Training and Implementation
The most critical aspect of setting up a CAE system in your facility is not the cost of the hardware or the software. It is, invariably, the cost of implementing the system and integrating it with your processes.
The time your design and engineering staff requires to become proficient and productive with the new systems is the biggest cost of the change-over. We have found that this difficult time can be made easier by allowing people to evolve from the current systems to the more productive new systems. We use only software that permits and encourages this process of evolution.
We combine the notion of evolution with very highly custom-tailored training. We avoid the generalized training that aims to teach “all there is to know” about the software, and concentrate on training the users in the tasks that they require immediately to return to productivity as soon as possible.
This type of training is less expensive and less time consuming. We usually offer this training on site to further reduce the absence of critical personnel.
The length of the training required depends on the skill level of the individuals, but we usually find that one to three full day sessions is sufficient.
We train groups of no more than three people at a time, and prefer to let time pass between the sessions so people can practice. Scheduling is flexible and costs are competitive.
